Last month, Rich and I had the opportunity to explore Utah a little bit in-between a few dreamy desert shoots. There were so many places that took our breath away.
These two adventurers know exactly how to live life. They came all the way from Chicago to meet me in Joshua Tree for their engagement session, and of course get a little climbing in. When Brooke first contacted me about shooting her wedding, I knew it was a match made in heaven because of how adventurous these two souls are, and how much they value enjoying life. Then when I met them and saw how they love being together, it was so obvious that this is the coolest couple of all time. I mean... when you're having this much fun with your person, you've got to be doing something right. We drank beer and listened to 90's hip hop on the windiest day of all time in Joshua Tree. It was perfect.
Such a treat to meet and photograph this couple. They are the most genuine souls you will ever meet and spending the morning with them exploring San Francisco, eating ice cream, hiking around Mt. Tamalpias, was the best. I think it's easy to want to be relaxed while planning your wedding, trying to keep the focus on the moment, instead of on the details. Well, this couple is ACTUALLY doing that, and I am so proud of them for it. So excited for your new life together friends!!
I don't often get to work locally since I live in a small Northern California town, so when these two contacted me to spontaneously do an engagement shoot while they were in town, I was so excited. We went to one of the best waterfalls in the world, just 1 hour from Redding, and got completely soaked, as usual, while the tourists watched us like we were crazy. Been there before. Meagan + Gavin were so sweet, and we had such a blast hanging out together. Their love for each other just pours out of every image. You can tell just how much they love being with each other.
I met these two at one of my favorite places in Northern California, a place not many know about. It's covered in rolling green hills, grazing cattle, and seasonal waterfalls. After months of heavy rain, I knew the waterfalls would be full - so we hiked, out trying to avoid ankle deep mud, to the grandest waterfall of them all. Along the way we talked about food, and more food. These two just celebrated their anniversary on St. Patrick's Day and I couldn't be more excited for their new life together as they get married next year!!
What an incredible day this was. Kelley and Mark are such a sweet couple and are literally up for any and all traveling experiences together. We are going to Moab in April for some more epic engagement photos and I cannot wait. These two met me at Black Sands Beach, my favorite place in the world, and we were lucky enough to have the best February beach weather of all time. So fun to get to experience this place all over again, and this time through my lens with one of my favorite couples!
You want to know what shooting in the freezing cold rain, crazy wind and blowing sand looks like? Like this. And it was incredible. We went to Cape Kiwanda on the Oregon Coast with high hopes for a break in the rainy weather, but got exactly the opposite. Didn't matter for these two though because they are so in love and it shows through every little crease of their lives, and in the middle of a crazy coastal storm too. Hillary was my roommate in college, so we're pretty much best friend for life, and it makes me so happy deep down that she found someone who loves her like Dakota does. Love you forever Hilly Jills.
I don't know if I've ever laughed so much during a shoot because Katie and Colin are a blast. Literally my cheeks hurt while I was driving home. It was such a treat to spend my afternoon shooting these two at Point Reyes (my favorite place on earth), talking about marriage and life, and of course getting our shoes soaking wet and muddy because that just always seems to happen. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful, warm January day in Northern California, it was all just perfect. I can't wait to celebrate again with these two this summer and have their long distance relationship finally come to an end!!
Not even sure where to begin with these two because they are amazing and I am so excited for their wedding this summer in Colorado!! They flew all the way to LA to meet me in Malibu for a sun-soaked, cliff, beach engagement session. Even though there were 100 other people at this beach, we still had such a blast together getting completely soaked by the waves. These two have such a sweet, intimate love and it was so evident just how much fun they have together. Can't wait to hang out with them again soon, and hike around the Colorado mountains in a wedding dress!!
When I met Meredith and Luke for coffee and heard about their proposal story in the Swiss Alps, it was pretty obvious they were no ordinary couple. We dreamed up an epic engagement session together and it was nothing short of that. They were literally up for anything, and the experience far outweighed anything else (they speak my love language).
