Spent the afternoon cuddling in an airstream, playing with light on a warm summer day. Thanks Levi + Alyssa.
For my first Year in Review, I don't want to just show you all the amazing shoots I did and places I got to travel to, but to share the moments that meant so much to me, and to the people I made them for, and to hopefully inspire other couples and photographers that this is what it's all about.
I wish I could share all the stories behind every photo, I already can't get through it without crying as I relive all these moments I've had with strangers, friends, and families.
Here are a few of my favorite landscapes that either Rich or I took. I have such a huge love for landscape photography, the light, the texture, the natural composition. It's storytelling but in such a different way and my approach is from a emotional + sensing place. I want to feel the water the mist, hear the wind, smell the air through the photos. I've not compiled a personal project like this in a while so I feel a bit rusty, but no better place than Iceland to get back into it!
A few weeks ago I flew down to Napa, California and met up with Tara & Shaina, the masterminds behind Tara Lauren's incredible wedding gowns. We spent the day at Beltane Ranch photographing their new, dreamy, boho Spring Collection called Ember Dusk. I have never done anything like this before, and it was such a treat to have the first time be with such incredibly talented designers + model (the one and only Sydney Hafen). Here is a collection of some of my favorites from that day.
This was such a dream come true for me. I have been wanting to do a styled shoot for a while, but pulling together all the details in the midst of being so busy and traveling was hard. I wanted to do this shoot in the Redwoods because it's such a meaningful place to say your vows In the midst of these towering thousand year old trees that have withstood incredible opposition, you commit yourself to the love of your life. Does it get any more romantic? I also wanted to emphasize the laid back, boho bride, where everything isn't perfect, but beautiful all the same. The dresses are from Dreamers & Lovers, my all time favorite dress designer in Los Angeles, CA. The anklets are from Free People. The suit was mix matched from personal items to goodwill finds. The location is on the coast in Northern California in the Lady Bird Redwood Grove and the beach was just along the 101-N as you drive north of Trinidad, CA. Really excited to share this inspiration with you!
