Iceland will forever be one of our favorite places to explore + shoot elopements in. We took our 4x4 car and drove into a secluded area in South Iceland where Alice + Jace exchanged their vows, then ventured back towards the famous waterfalls Iceland is so known for, and ended the day on a cliffside at sunset with puffins + champagne. Doesn’t get any better if you ask me!
For our 2 year anniversary, Rich and I decided to head to our favorite country for some "us" time. While everyone else celebrates by going out to dinner, maybe taking a weekend in the mountains or even a nice beach, we choose to spend it walking through blizzards, eating overly salted dehydrated food, getting blisters after long hours on the trail, and sleeping in a hut with 15 other smelly hikers. Talk about romantic. Not everyone's first choice, but why isn't it?
Here are a few of my favorite landscapes that either Rich or I took. I have such a huge love for landscape photography, the light, the texture, the natural composition. It's storytelling but in such a different way and my approach is from a emotional + sensing place. I want to feel the water the mist, hear the wind, smell the air through the photos. I've not compiled a personal project like this in a while so I feel a bit rusty, but no better place than Iceland to get back into it!
One of the most meaningful shoots I've ever been a part of. Erin + Dirk spent 10 days adventuring around Iceland for a belated honeymoon/anniversary and asked if I could come out and capture their vow renewal - I couldn't have been more excited. Dreams came true in every way for me here, flying to Iceland, hanging out with the sweetest couple in the world, complete creative freedom, and honestly just the best few days spent together.
