Indian Palace Engagement Session

Indian Palace Engagement Session

The region we were in for this shoot is called Rajasthan. It's a part of the country that is most famous for camels and brightly colored women in the desert. And then there's Udaipur - the city of lakes - a desert oasis full of palaces, restaurants right on the water, narrow streets and sunset boat rides. I had never been here before and was so blown away by how beautiful and unique it was compared to anywhere else I had been in India.

I met up with Sydney + Dexter at one of the palaces you could stay in and we bonded over experiencing India for the first time, something I have never been able to do with any other couple before.  It's experiences like this - tying my love for photography and travel with such a huge part of my past - that make me feel something I've never felt before.

Remote Iceland Vow Renewal

Remote Iceland Vow Renewal

One of the most meaningful shoots I've ever been a part of.  Erin + Dirk spent 10 days adventuring around Iceland for a belated honeymoon/anniversary and asked if I could come out and capture their vow renewal - I couldn't have been more excited.  Dreams came true in every way for me here, flying to Iceland, hanging out with the sweetest couple in the world, complete creative freedom, and honestly just the best few days spent together.

Destination Wedding in Bulgaria

If there's one thing that I love the most about photography it's the opportunities I get to travel to some of the most amazing places, learn about different cultures, and have this thing I call "work" be an experience.  When Allison, an amazing photographer based on the east coast, reached out to me to shoot her wedding in Bulgaria, I was so incredibly flattered I didn't know what to do with myself.  These two met and fell in love when Lyubo lived + worked in the US for a while, and due to some unfortunately tough visa situations, they had been doing long distance for long enough. So this day and wedding was quite the celebration of two people finally able to be together.  I am forever grateful to have been a part of this incredible weekend.

When Tina + Matt suggested the idea of doing their engagement session here, I didn’t hesitate for a second, and we went straight to work, sorting out permits and travel details. The location itself is no easy feat. Driving from LA on only a few hours of sleep, Tina + Matt met us at the trailhead and we hiked in 10 miles to the most breathtaking waterfall we could ever imagine. The water was so unbelievably blue and next to the red desert rocks it’s like no other place in the entire world. We slept out under the stars, giddy as ever to shoot the next day. We woke up early before the other hikers arrived and had the whole place to ourselves. The whole trip was such an unforgettable experience, and the most inspiring place to capture their love and spend time together. This is definitely my favorite shoot of all time.

The coolest dog parents and the cutest little pup in the whole wide world.  They cuddled on the couch, watched the sunset on the roof, and walked down the street for some late night donuts.  Also they have amazing matching tattoos that they just had done the day before and it already looks so good.  Had and amazing time hanging with these two amazing artists and LEMON.

Michiko + Daniel

Michiko + Daniel

Not even sure where to start with this wedding because it was truly an unforgettable experience.  Michiko + Daniel live in Dubai and brought a handful to friends over to Fukuoka, Japan (where Michiko used to live) to celebrate their wedding with their closest family + friends. We met them a few days earlier to hang out, get to know each other, take a few photos in this incredible tucked away Japanese garden in the middle of the city, and of course eat ramen.  I knew right away that they were some of the most kind hearted people and I felt so honored to be the one to capture their special day.

The night before their wedding everyone went out to a pop up food stall to hang out, drink sake, and eat some of the craziest food like snail, whale, sea urchin, cow tongue, octopus, to just name a few. It was quite the experience and we felt so included + welcomed as part of the family. It was a complete cultural immersion to say the least and Rich and I fell so in love with this country and all of it's people.

On the wedding day, Michiko is from Japan and Daniel is from the UK so there was a bit of infusion from both cultures in their day.  They said their vows out on the lawn next to the ocean with a view of the city in the distance, and then changed into traditional Japanese kimono's for the first reception.  Their families came together to break open a barrel of sake from the bride's hometown and served it to every guest in appreciation of their friendship and love.  Then they headed indoors for a second reception with more incredible food + danced to gangnam style like no other wedding party I've seen.
