Adventurous Mountain Wedding | Crested Butte | Colorado Wedding Photographer

A wedding at 12,000ft.
What more could I say?
I met these two last year in Joshua Tree, we drank beer and talked about the year they spent living out of their car. Our love for the outdoors and a good life bonded us pretty immediately. The next time we see each other is in a small mountain town in Colorado - Crested Butte - spending the weekend with their family + friends, rafting down the river, eating pizza, and having the time of their lives. The only thing I can say is I wish it lasted longer. Weddings like this, when it's more than just a day, but an entire experience, are what I love so much about what I do.

Sometimes, you just need to go to a waterfall in the middle of the week and sit at a lookout until the sun goes down. Spending time with your person is just as important as all the other big things in life. I know I'm usually sharing couples getting married and engaged, but I've found that it's all the little things in-between that matter the most. Silver Falls is one of my favorite places in Oregon, there's this 10 waterfall hike you can do that is pretty incredible. All to say, take the night off, stop watching Netflix, get outside, and spend some real undistracted time with your loved ones, because it's a big deal.

Long summer nights on the Columbia River Gorge

Baylee is a friend and fellow photographer in Portland and it was such a treat to capture her and her husband along the Gorge, near the place where they were married just 1 short year ago. Places are so significant to me and when I get to infuse their story in a love story, I feel everything.

Intimate Mountaintop Santa Barbara Elopement

Intimate Mountaintop Santa Barbara Elopement

An intimate elopement in Santa Barbara. I met Rachel + James last year at the coffee shop where they had their first date and within minutes I knew that these two were the most carefree + intentional couple.

Pre-Wedding Vows on the Oregon Coast

Pre-Wedding Vows on the Oregon Coast

Do you dream of eloping, but know that it means too much to your family + friends not to?
You're not alone.
The elopements that you see all over instagram and the internet where a bride + groom plan an epic trip to some far off land with cliffs and waterfalls have only really been a thing for the last 5 years. That's probably why your parents don't get it.
The thing about eloping that really is so incredible (and what I love so much about them) isn't the killer photos or even the money that you will probably save on catering and an open bar, it's the intimacy.

Morocco Elopement at the Sahara Desert

An adventurous elopement in the desert near Morocco. This wedding was inspired by that desert beauty that I have seen in National Geographic magazines.

Lake Powell Engagements

Lake Powell Engagements

I am such a huge advocate for making your wedding, engagements, vow renewals, fill in the blanks, into more than just a day, but an experience.  It takes away the stress of needing everything to be so perfect because what you are doing isn't for a picture, it's for a feeling, a memory, a moment in time that you can look back on and remember more than just a photo,
it's a weekend of memories,
a meaningful place,
the person you shared this with.

My husband and I got married on the Lost Coast - a rugged, mostly inaccessible part of the Northern California coast where we had both been on extended backpacking trips and it had become one of our favorite places in the world. Now, every time I go back to that place, I can't help but feel overwhelmed by our memories from that weekend and I relive it all over again from beginning to end. Tears stream down my face, and I feel everything.

I think the place that you choose to document your love is a big deal, it holds those memories just as much as the pictures do. These two did just that.

Jillian + Eric spent the week road tripping through Arizona + Utah and I met up with them in the middle of their trip for some epic engagement photos in the desert. We camped out in our cars above Lake Powell so we could wake up before the sun and capture their love in an incredible place. It was everything + more than I expected, and we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. We spent the whole day together and it was unforgettable.

Kauai Adventure

Kauai Adventure

Rich and I finally went to Hawaii for the first time, and it was everything we expected and more.
Walking around barefoot, a constant ocean breeze, humid warm air that made my skin feel amazing, giant trees and leaves, chickens everywhere, and slow paced life.
The best part was hanging out with these two, hiking barefoot in the mountains and chasing the sun on a very stormy + cloudy day.
This island has the be the most magical place and I would go back here in a heartbeat.

Backyard 15 Year Anniversary Session

Backyard 15 Year Anniversary Session

What can I even say about these two.
They reached out to me last year to do an in-home anniversary session and their home was a really significant place for them that they wanted to capture.  They have been remodeling and pouring every extra second of their lives into this amazing place that you are about to see.  We started the evening at their favorite nursery, a place where they have spent so much time together gathering little pieces to bring into their home.  Then we spent the last bit of the day exploring their amazing back yard with a veggie garden, swing set, coy pond, rabbits, greenhouse, fire pit, gazebo, beach volleyball, you name it, it's there.  I could have stayed out there for forever. This home, this life that these two have built together, was such an honor to capture. Happy 15 years.

Oregon Coast Adventure

Oregon Coast Adventure

A rainy day on the Oregon Coast with the sweetest, most adventurous and carefree couple who love and enjoy each other like no other.
A little rain didn't stop these two from having the best day ever.
